More About this Item
Safely troubleshoot energized and de-energized wires in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. With a safety rating of CAT IV 600 V, these wire tracers provide the highest protection available on any wire tracer. Designed for maximum user protection, tracers can even handle transient overvoltage spikes up to 8000 V.
The advanced wire tracer is comprised of a receiver and a transmitter. The receiver detects signal in wires and cables using two methods: passive tracing (without the transmitter) for noncontact voltage detection mode or active tracing (with the transmitter) for all other modes. The tapered tip sensor of the receiver is ideal for tracing wires in corners, tight spaces, and junction boxes. The transmitter works on energized and de-energized circuits up to CAT IV 600 V and transmits signal to the receiver. Select from three modes—high, low, and loop—depending on the circuit being traced.
Use the included i400 AC current clamp with the transmitter to generate a signal on a wire through the insulation when a direct connection to a conductive wire is not possible. Soft, nonslip handle offers a firm grip preventing accidental touching of live wires.
